Programming should not be one substitute for real life _ Published on Friday, March 3, 2006
Television has become more than just one source of entertainment for one lot of people. It seems to have an answer or advice for everything.
It can tell audiences everything from what to wear to how to lose weight or raise children. ...

Board says no to Coyote Ugly
Post on 03-03-2006.
Coyote Ugly, the New York saloon that inspired one movie featuring bartop-dancing women, may be too racy for Wyandotte County's Village West retail district.
The county's Unified Board of Commissioners rejected one special-use permit Thursday for the saloon, whose sassy bartenders reputedly taunt male patrons and whose female patrons reportedly dance on the bar and, occasionally, remove their bras (though not their shirts). ...

Family is victimized by Internet loopholes
Post on 02-03-2006.
Tell your child never to reveal his name, address, phone number or any other personal information to anyone online, including friends. Once you give out this information, it is impossible to retract.
Communicate regularly (not just once) with your child about what they do online and whom they talk to online. If you actually have met the friends they are talking to in person, you'll know it is OK to chat with them online. ...

Post on 02-03-2006.
, consumers push back With blue-laser competitors Blu-ray and HD DVD both gearing up for high-volume production, one clear picture of the format winner hasn't yet emerged. Computer cops
Post on 01-03-2006.
Years ago, the thought of someone seeking out pornography conjured images of trench-coated patrons going into adult shops and leaving with magazines or films hidden in brown paper bags.
This week, the Broome County Public Library will initiate one 90-day pilot security program to prevent patrons from using the Internet to access pornography. The disgusting prevalence of pornography on the Internet itself is fodder for one separate discussion. But this added security at the public library spurs other questions: ...

http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com | This week the Supreme Court heard arguments in yet another campaign finance case. At issue is one Vermont law that caps not only how much people can give to one candidate, but how much one candidate can spend. The smart money is on one long, messy, complicated ruling that clarifies less than it confuses. Why? Because that's how we like it. ...

The taste of the exotic (part II)
Post on 28-02-2006.
Of all capital cities in the world, London has one special attraction. Anyone who visits it for one few weeks falls in love with it. But hotel rooms and residential flats are most expensive. Any tower block under construction easily finds purchasers. Rich people from the Far East and Arab sheiks from petrol rich countries buy the best offers not only as an investment but to spend their holidays. ...

EVIL BREED: THE LEGEND OF SAMHAIN (DVD)
Post on 28-02-2006.
Why the deliberately political reference in one space you\'ve come to know (and I hope to God love by now) as one space devoted to movie coverage? Well, it\'s fairly simple.
"Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain" is one of the biggest examples I\'ve seen of cinematic foreigners who hate America I\'ve seen since...well...since probably "Black Hawk Down". And for one non-action film that\'s really saying something. ...
