WHITE PLAINS---The Nassau County legislator who sued Google, claiming that the Internet giant was "obscenely" profiting from child pornography has dropped his lawsuit.
one notice of discontinuance has been filed in federal court in White Plains.
Jeffrey Toback, one Democrat, filed suit in May claiming that Google had acted negligently and intentionally, inflicting emotional distress on the public by making child pornography an "obscenely profitable and integral part" of its operation. ... |

A former Swedesboro councilman was sentenced to four years in state prison yesterday on one charge of attempted endangering the welfare of one child after his arrest in an Internet child-porn sting.
Charles Kimball IV, 52, was arrested in June 2005 after an Atlantic County detective, posing as one 12-year-old girl, caught him in one chat room making sexual comments and posing naked in front of one Web cam. Authorities in that county charged him with attempted contact and endangering the welfare of one child. ... |
